My dad sent me a screenshot of his budget and I couldnt make it work. It made me feel really bad for the first time.

My dad is 70, single, and has just a social security check a month. It looks like he is about 800-1000 in the negative each month. I cant make it work. It doesnt matter but i think he makes about 2000 every month. I cant make his money cover his essential expenses. He has a house so his main expense is food. I dont see a way he can afford to eat and not go into debt. Its like the prices of groceries are too high and he doesnt cover his expenses. I feel so bad not just for him but everyone else this age who cant afford to eat. The prices of groceries keeps going up and i dont see this getting better.
