An alternate history world is an important aspect of mapping out what would happen in an alternate timeline, such as a royal family never dying out, or what if Germany won WW2. Just ask yourself this question: What alternate world do you believe is the most realistic and the most fair?

Here is my take based off of a civil war that I’ll never tell you about:
The most fair and realistic alternate world was one where the civil war was won by the blue side, and not the red side. The only difference is that the war never ended.
The war ended for a year in 1865- but a campaign was started in 1866 lasting until modern day 2023. The war has ebbed and flowed with a current cease-fire, the war has been going on for over 150 years.
The only reason this war has been going on is that the red side never actually surrendered, and they never actually got defeated because they carved out an independent nation in the American west and southwest. Over the years President and after President tried to stop the reds and put an end to the war, but none of them have been able to.
In my world the capital is not in DC, but in Chicago, with the red government in Los Angeles. This has caused a massive investment in infrastructure over the years along a highway that connects with the two capitols- so in essence it’s like an I-5 between the two cities.
The reason I think this world is so realistic and fair is because of the lack of bias deployed by both the red and blue governments. Both governments are equal in the way they act, with the blue side being capitalist and democratic, while the red side is a socialist republic.
The blue side does raise taxes quite often, but in turn they use these taxes to give out free healthcare, free college, and free elder care- all of the things humans need to live prosperous and safe lives, all you had to do was work. It is true that you would have to work in order for the government to give you these things, but I feel that it is a fair price to pay for the price of freedom, equality, and justice.
The red side is slightly different. Their government works on a completely different system. They keep a small army and invest the rest of their money into their citizens- but in a very different way from the blues. They offer free healthcare and free college, but they do not offer free elder care. The reason they do not offer free elder care is because they do not want to take jobs away from their citizens.
The red government is very different because it is a socialist republic. The government owns all of the companies, and the citizens work for the government in these companies. The red government has a special tax rate because they want to to make sure that all of their citizens are well off, so they have a tax rate of 75% of all income. But they also give all of their citizens a base wage, plus a wage on top of the base wage for the job they work. The base wage for everyone is $17,000 per year, just for being a citizen. Then, depending on what job you work and how hard you work you’ll get additional money to your base wage.
The blues also have a base wage, which is much lower at $5,000 per year. This is because they spend most of their money on their military to protect the citizens from the reds. They do still give out a wage on top of the base wage depending on the job you work, but the base wage is much lower.
I feel like this is a perfect example of a fair and realistic alternate world.
