I loved this place 10 years ago. How did it fall so far?

I just spent a couple of hours browsing /pol/ and /social/. Every other post was "I'm sorry that I was born white"/"I hate being a man," and it's always front page because it's always 5 replies deep. What are we? Like 1000 comments on a post about how being a man sucks? Who are these people? I thought this was supposed to be a place where people came when they got too cynical for mainstream social media.
