Why were we the first ones to know about the disappearance and death of The Notorious B.I.G's daughter?

I don't remember what month it was, but you guys posted her Instagram and the subreddit/2og before anyone else. When I went to Instagram, none of the high profile accounts had announced anything. I only heard about it a day or two later. What comes after the jump scares me to think about.
