What is a thing that your country does that people in the US think is ridiculous or unthinkable, but it works well?

It seems like y'all are the only ones with problems (especially with your healthcare), so I'd like to know why you think that.<br>To start, my country is Portugal (Europe). <br><br>Here are some things that our country does well (in my opinion): <br><br>- Free Healthcare <br>- No tipping culture (minimum wage is around $700 for 20-23 years old and $1,200 for 23 and up) <br>- Two weeks of paid vacation for every job by law (sometimes it's more)<br>- 12 years of mandatory education <br>- No student loans (unless you go to a private university)<br>- No tuition fees (unless you go to a private university)<br>- Free birth control <br>- It is mandatory to include condoms in some packs of cigarettes<br>- Minimum wage of $15 an hour for working in public transportation (this changes per year obviously) <br>- Legal abortion <br>- Train tickets are very cheap (I pay $3 for a single journey of almost 2 hours) <br>- Low crime rates <br><br>I'm just moving to the US (I'm only 18, so I don't know much about this stuff)
