Why do people think AI will replace human workers?

The first step in the work to be done is always collecting the data which is always done by humans. What percentage of marketing and sales data do you really think can be collected without humans? For instance, the manufacturer puts it in a box and then ships it. If a human doesn't take it out of the box and input the data into the computer then the machine doesn't know what it is or where it is.<br><br>Cameras and mics are just more people collecting data. If I am sitting in front of a pc with a camera, a mic, my phone, and I am writing on a legal pad, the machine is still only getting the data that I give it. I am the one that decides what the machine can or cannot have.<br><br>I think what the AI salesman is really saying is that you should pay him and then he will tell you how to get your employees to do a lot more work because "our machine" is so smart! Just like any other machine, it is really just an algorithm. Make a plan for your business and arrange your work in a way that you can use a machine to do it. I bet that 75% of business is actually just looking at a screen all day or talking on a phone. I hope that someday we get to a point where a computer looks at a company's name and mutes you immediately. I would rather listen to a robot reading from a script than listen to a robot saying my name that has been recorded. I am so sick of hearing someone say "Wendy?" as if they knew me. How about we get a machine that can just block another machine from wasting our time?<br><br>I think the problem is not that ai steals jobs, it just makes it so that workers are able to do so much more work, and yet the boss doesn't give them a raise. But if you get an algorithm written, you can get so much more work done that your employees will be happy because of the new things that they get to do.
