News stories about outrage in the country should not be a thing.

With the way the media spins stories and misrepresents people, it is unhelpful for news to talk about outrage in the country. It creates this echo chamber where everyone tells themselves that "the people are getting ready to blow". The reality is that most people go about their day without getting outraged at the news. The people outraged are a vocal minority. Even if you think that "the people" have every right to be outraged, it does not simplify the problem it only creates more division. What the people need is to talk to each other and find common ground. In reality, people disagree but they are rarely outraged and are willing to talk out their differences.
