As a former weeaboo, it is very frustrating to see this sub act like an echo chamber of people who do not watch anime regularly but still want to talk about it.

I used to exclusively watch anime and was even subscribed to Crunchyroll for awhile before realizing I enjoyed watching other forms of media and different varieties of entertainment.

I occasionally check out this sub because although I do not regularly watch anime, I still have a soft spot for it deep down.

The issue with this chamber is it's lack of regular anime viewers, instead it is filled to the brim with people who haven't seen a good chunk of popular shows. I regularly browsing the front page and I am guaranteed to see at least one "What should I watch after...". With these posts there are regularly comments like "I have not seen that, but have you seen..." which makes no sense and is not helpful in the slightest.

I remember one post titled "What should I watch after Shingeki no Kyojin?" and the highest comment was "I have not seen that but have you seen Black Clover?".

This sub regularly disappoints me because I want to discuss anime, but it is hard to when there is a lack of knowledge.

EDIT: I should note I am not calling out casual viewers as much as I am calling out people who do not regularly watch anime but still want to participate in the discussion.
