# Tenebrousian War for Independence (1776-1784)

The Tenebrousian War for Independence was a ten-year conflict that began as a civil war between the Tenebrousian colonies and the United Kingdom of Albion and ended with the birth of the Tenebrousian Republic as an independent nation. The Tenebrousian colonies, fearing an Albionese takeover after the disastrous Seven Years’ War, countered with “no taxation without representation” after being levied with heavy taxes to pay the war debts. The immediate cause of the war was a series of battles between Albionese troops and Tenebrousian militants that began on October 3, 1775.

Initially, the Tenebrousians were defeated in the majority of battles and had to retreat from the Western Wilderness to the coastline. However, they received recognition from the Kingdom of Calonia, the Kingdom of Valtoria and the Kingdom of Marquetta. They later went on to defeat the Albionese at the Battle of Tenebrous City in 1777, which convinced the Calonians, Valterians and Marquetans to enter the war on their behalf. After which, the Tenebrousians were able to push into the Western Wilderness and ultimately end the war with a crushing victory over the Albionese.

# Seven Years’ War (1756-1763)

The Seven Years’ War was a global conflict that was fought between the Kingdom of Albion and her allies, the Kingdom of Calonia and the Kingdom of Valtoria, and the Kingdom of Marquetta and her allies, the Tenebrousian colonies, the Sarenian Empire and the Vynessian Empire. The primary cause of the war was the invasion of Sarenia by Marquetta. The war eventually ended with the signing of the Treaty of Tenebrous City, which ceded Tenebrousia to Albion, who in turn ceded North Galvia to Marquetta.

# Sarenian War of Succession (1749-1755)

The Sarenian War of Succession was a near global conflict that was fought between the Kingdom of Albion and her allies and the Kingdom of Marquetta. The cause of the war was the death of the Sarenian Emperor, who had no heir. The Sarenians were divided between two factions, one supporting the head of the Sarenian Orthodox Church, who was the son-in-law of the Sarenian Emperor, and the other supporting the Sarenian Emperor’s daughter. The Kingdom of Albion supported the daughter, while the Kingdom of Marquetta supported the son-in-law. The war eventually came to an end with the signing of the Treaty of Argentum, which recognised the son-in-law as the Emperor of Sarenia.
