Getting rid of sentimental items

I've been a minimalist for a long time, and I am relatively good at figuring out what I need to keep in my life and what I need to let go of. I continue to read a lot of articles and get tips on how to let go of sentimental items, but I have to admit I have a hard time getting rid of things like:

My dad's fishing pole, grandma's quilts, my mom's perfumes, drapes from my mom's house...and three years later I still haven't parted with any of them.

Any suggestions on what to do with these items? They are all in storage containers and I haven't touched them in years but I am feeling bad about just letting them go. Any advice appreciated.

Also, I currently live in a studio apartment so it is impractical to bring any of these items into my home at the moment.
