Why is this stuff still so popular ?

I've been on this site for nearly 10 years, and it never ceases to amaze me how popular and mainstream it is.<br><br>I remember signing up for it back in 2014, and everyone thought it was just another stupid nerdy site I used. "It's an adult chan!" "The internet's most hardcore chan!" "It's like chambers, but unfiltered!" "The users are all nazis, but it's worth it!"<br><br>It was. It really was. It felt like a candle in the dark, an oasis in a sea of mainstream boredom, a beacon of hope that the internet wasn't completely fucked, at least not yet.<br><br>But nothing gold can stay, and the golden age of 4chan passed in about 2015. Now it's just a festering shithole, full of fash and pedos and the dregs of Chinese and Indian trolls.<br><br>At least we still have this sub, I guess. But even that has gone to hell, using the same detestable algorithms and upvote mechanics that have ruined chambers forever.<br><br>How do you people still use this shit? It's not even an echo chamber anymore, it's something far, far worse. It's not even worth getting angry about, anymore.<br><br>Be angry at the world, killing itself. Be angry at your government, not doing anything about it. Be angry that we're all going to die soon, and that we can't do anything but rant about politics online.<br><br>But don't be angry at 4chan. Just ignore it, and move on with your life. It's not worth it.
