I am an English lit major, and my husband is an engineering major. I’m 30, and he’s 36, and we decided that the continuing pathetic state of affairs in the US is too much for us. <br><br>We live in Kansas City. We have watched as schools in the KC area get destroyed by budget cuts. We’ve seen schools struggle due to lack of funding. My husband’s family lives in St Louis, and we have seen the same things. Our parents live in the suburbs, but we are aware of how much of our area is a “plenty of good paying jobs” narrative for the city.<br><br>I’ve spoken to a couple of teachers at my uni, and we’ve all discussed what this means for teachers. Do you guys see yourself continuing in this field?<br><br>Also, I know there are a thousand threads about this. If you don’t like this thread, please just ignore it.
