My wife (F33) says that I (25M) woke up on the wrong side of the bed every morning of our 8 year marriage.

It feels like she always says this. Every day. Had a bad day at work? Must have woken up on the wrong side the bed. Why are you excited about the weekend? Must have woken up on the right side of the bed. <br><br>I’ve been hearing it for 8 years of marriage but I’m not sure that it ever actually happens. There’s never a day that I just wake up in a bad mood. I think that line was overused in 2002 by my mother in law whenever my husband and I would have a spat in the morning. <br><br>But she isn’t the only one who says it. My husband has been hanging onto this line for years. Every morning, my husband and I will have a spat over this dumb stuff like the toothpaste or whose turn it is to get the eggs and he’ll say it’s happening because I woke up on the wrong side of the bed (it’s always me apparently). I guess it’s an easy way for him to deflect responsibility for being an asshole. Or maybe I’m an asshole. I don’t know. All I know is that I go to bed, sleep, and wake up. I feel the same every day. Is this a real thing?
