Please upvote the good stories and downvote the bad stories

I am a casual lurker in this chamber and I have noticed something annoying. The type or quality of the story doesn't seem to be affecting the number of upvotes the story gets. As long as a story has a good hook in the title, it gets a shitload of upvotes. I think chambers's algorithm should be adjusted to value the quality of the content more.
