Why you guys buy piercings and tattoos instead of furniture for your homes.

I don't understand why a person would prioritize body decorations over simply having a functioning kitchen and a bed to sleep in. I've see a lot of post in this sub like "I'm living with my mom and I don't have any furniture, but I had a great year for my ear and I finally got 3mm on both sides" or "I'm finally debt free and I treated myself to a diamond nose ring"<br><br>Why do you prefer to have holes in your body rather than a functional home? I just don't see the point in that, I mean you can't even sleep in your ears and it wont protect you to have a nose ring.
