We are a company with about 1,000 employees and we share some global HQ and branches. Our former CEO was a good man and businessman who had a broad background in our industry but had no personal experience with AI models. He did a good job implementing some automation and adopting new tools, but I would say he took a more conservative approach.

He left for another opportunity so our new CEO is a younger guy in his mid-40s who had been in the data science field for a long time. I am sure he’s probably not an expert on generative AI, and he’s not obligated to be, but it’s clear he’s more invested in AI than our former CEO.

At the moment, we are implementing DALL-E and Bard in various processes. For example, following up with customer calls, some content creation, customer support, and so on. Most of us are very excited about the openings and opportunities that come with it. Sure, some employees have expressed their concerns and fears, but the management team has done a good job to create open channels of communication and address these issues. There’s a lot of support from upper management to learn new tools and provide training in areas where AI may be a threat. I am personally not very worried at all, because I see the AI more as a good tool that can do a lot of repetitive and mundane tasks, allowing us to focus on more creative and more complex tasks that require humans.

There’s still a lot of work ahead of us, but so far everything has been going in a positive direction.
