AITA for asking my girlfriend to give me $1,250 for paying for a new phone?

My (23M) girlfriends (23F) phone was destroyed when she dropped it in the bathtub. It wouldn't turn on afterwards, but after some time, it started turning on, but there was some water damage both on the inside and outside. She didn't want to deal with a phone with water damage, so I offered to buy her a new phone. She agreed and I asked for the money first, but she said it was too soon to be giving me the money to buy the phone and wanted me to pay for it myself. I refused and just told her to pay me back when I get the new phone, but she didn't want that idea and said the money should be received first as proof.<br><br>I got angry and thought she was being stupid for not trusting me. I told her this and she said I was being immature, but did agree to pay me back when I got the new phone for her. Now she is acting like I'm a jerk for this.<br><br>EDIT: I did buy her a new phone, but she is acting like I'm the asshole.<br><br>EDIT2: Since she is acting like I'm the asshole, I'm going to take the money out of her savings account as repayment.
