Got a strong urge to spend money, right after a large purchase (e.g. a house).

For years I have had this problem. After a large purchase (e.g. a car or a house), I will "feel" financially secure for a few months, and I will almost always end up buying something with that feeling (e.g. a computer) comparing to my usual-to-frugal spending habits. Specifically, it's a strong urge to indulge in a little pleasure, because I finally made the purchase that I have been thinking about for a long time. It's kinda like "I have finally done it." and "I deserve a small pleasure."

I have been trying to grow up from this habit for years, and I don't think I have succeeded. I still feel this urge occasionally and I try to fight it all the time, but I have not been able to succeed. E.g. I justify myself by "I deserve it," and "it's only \$X." I feel like this habit is annoying, because I know I can't control myself, so I try to avoid myself from making large purchases.

I don't know if others have this problem. I did not find much about this feeling in my research, and I am both not interested in therapy and too scared to do so. How did you deal with it if you had the same problem?

Tldr: Feeling financially secured for a few month after making a large purchase, and hence a strong urge to indulge.
