If lithuanians dont speak lithuanian, how lithuanian are they really?

I was at this lithuanian restaurant in the capital. My mind was blown when I asked the waitress what the word was for *sour cream* in lithuanian, and she told me to ask my friends. She didnt know.<br><br>I asked her again to try again, but *I dont know lithuanian, I only speak english*.<br><br>I got her attention again and asked if she was supposed to be speaking lithuanian, I assumed only lithuanians know lithuanian, like the litteral purpose of lithuanian. She said that she was just a waitress, and that the language of the restaurant was english.<br><br>I sat back down. She came over, and I asked if she was lithuanian. She said she wasnt.<br><br>I asked her why she was speaking english then.<br><br>She said that english was the global language, and everyone spoke it. <br><br>I said something like, *who cares what they know, this is lithuania*<br><br>She got annoyed and left, and I had to tell her that she was doing something wrong, and that it has to be corrected.
