So, I'll be traveling to Italy and I want to have a solid itinerary that includes multiple cities and attractions, as well as transportation and accommodation. I've tried a few methods (a spreadsheet, a mind map, a straight up written list of day-by-days), but I'd love to hear what you recommend!

Using a Google Doc of some kind and just writing it out line after line has worked well for me, but I want to get more specific with my entries on the itinerary and have different ways of displaying the information. I don't know if I even need multiple methods, but a solid single method of planning an itinerary would be super helpful for me.

TL:DR! - What's the best way to plan an itinerary?!

EDIT: I'll be on the road for 2 weeks, and I want to visit Florence, Venice, and Rome in addition to a couple of places in Tuscany.

EDIT 2: Holy shit! I didn't expect this post to blow up so fast! Thank you to everyone for all of your advice, I've already started using some of it and it's super helpful!

EDIT 3: Since it seems like a few people are curious, I'm going to post the final product on this thread once we've completed the trip!
