Has anyone done meal prep as a kid?

I’ve seen a ton of people in their 20s doing meal prep, but I did it when I was 13. I spent the Saturday doing the grocery shopping with my parents, portioning it out, marinating, cooking, and freezing. It was scary to see how much money I was spending on food, but it helped me to assume more responsibly in the kitchen. Also, no more buying blocks of cheddar cheese that I’d eat in a day.

My parents were happy to have me cook in the kitchen, but I’m wondering if how this reflects on my upbringing.
