You don't have to be a university professor to be extremely intelligent, specialising in a skill when you're 16-25 years old gives your country a competitive edge and you a competitive job, i am not saying that a university education is bad, but solving problems gets things done.

What do I mean? I mean that being highly career orientated in school is not only beneficial if you want to be more intelligent, but extremely good for your country.

For example, when you are about 14-15 years old, you have a choice to become vocational or professional. I was professional for 3 years and then decided to specialise and I don't regret it, it may be hard at first and it may seem dumb, but it is actually good for you and for your country.

There are so many people (in my country) that complain about the lack of skill based jobs in the industry, about jobs going to immigrants. Do you know what? The lack of jobs in the industry is due to the lack of industrial workers, for example, if you vote to create more jobs, how are you gonna give them out when you don't have enough workers for them? If I (18f) were to become a doctor for example, I would have to work for 12 years to become one, I know doctors are extremely important, but for how long can you educate doctors?

Its the same for other things, everyone wants to be an engineer and a doctor, but I rarely see anyone wanting to be anything else, like an architect, neurosurgeon, aerospace engineers, zoologists, career orientated jobs like those would give you way more of an edge than many people would think.

So yeah, I would recommend anyone to do something that is based more on skill than intellect, when you learn something more skillful (like sewing, painting, masonry, carpentry, cutting hair or something) you can learn several things at once, while learning something intellectual is very different, you need to learn one thing for a very long time before you can move on to the next.

So yeah, I would recommend everyone to do something like that and not look down on people who go a more vocational route, because the path that they choose would benefit their country much more than what you might think.
