so many people don't test their drugs because they think it's just about making sure there isn't fentanyl in there. it's not. just because a drug doesn't contain fentanyl doesn't mean it's safe. cocaine cut with lidocaine is an example of this. it's not necessarily going to be super dangerous, but you never really know for sure. and there isn't any rhyme or reason to what's in a drug and what isn't.

i (stupidly) didn't test my coke today because it was from a friend who told me it was good. he tested it himself and it was fine, so we were both expecting that it was good to go. it was fine, up until i started to feel this creeping numbness in my mouth. i did a little research and the only thing i could find that would cause this was lidocaine. so i tested it, and sure enough there it was. i felt like such a dumbass.

i also did a little research into what the effects are of doing lidocaine. apparently it can raise your heart rate, and in large doses, can slow it. it can also inhibit breathing and make you woozy. it's also supposed to raise your blood pressure, though my bp didn't change at all through this whole experience.

so, you guys, please be careful when out there. test your drugs, and don't be stupid like i was. you never know when you might end up with a batch of something cut with something pretty gnarly that you wouldn't expect to be there.

EDIT: for anyone wondering how i tested, i used a lidocaine reagent test from reagent tests uk. i didn't think it actually worked, until it did. honestly a very handy thing to have on hand. i use it to test heroin too, because some of the dope i get is cut with a drug called Redux, which is a precursor to a very strong opioid that also contains lidocaine. using the test helps me determine if it's cut with Redux (it’s a little safer to shoot, since you can divine the ratio of heroin to Redux)

EDIT AGAIN: oh my god stop with the ce. lidocaine is definitely not the same as novocaine. if you're an anesthesiologist, that's your prerogative, but don't go spreading unfounded medical information around. no one likes a know it all
