I just want to give you all a hug after reading those CDC guidelines

Humans are not made to be isolated, kids need each other, and being alone for extended periods of time can be an awful experience for many.<br><br>Humans need to be close to each other, and kids especially need to play and be with each other.<br><br>I know we have to be safe. I know we have to implement distancing and a host of other precautions. And I am so grateful that my district has chosen the safe route.<br><br>I want to say thank you to those who are going back. I know it is hard. I know you are doing it because you care about your students and parents. I want to hug you and give you a gold star and a million karma cookies.<br><br>I want to give everyone in my district a hug, too. I know we aren't reopening for the right reasons. We are a poor, urban district, and parents here don't have the luxury of staying home. I wish we could let our students stay home, but we live in a world where parents are expected to be put out of work when schools shut down.<br><br>Still, I am giving everyone in my district hugs, from the bottom of my heart, from my classroom to yours. May we all be safe, may we all be healthy, and may our kids not be scarred by all this. <br><br>I love you all, stay safe, and stay healthy.
