I’ve been building AR-15’s the past few months. From stock to fully tricked out. I’ve bought several from various dealers to compare quality and price. I want to know what you guys are looking for in a budget (quality) AR-15 and what you would be willing to pay for it?

I’ve found out after a lot of research that you don’t need to spend $1,000+ for a high quality firearm. Of course a lot of it depends on the accessories you want and what “high quality” means to you but I have no issues with my stock AR’s that I bought for $550. My first build was a killer deal on a complete upper for under $400. That didn’t last long as I swapped out the barrel and hand rail. It’s still my go to when I shoot.

I did end up selling my M4A1 carbine and bought a fully tricked out AR from another dealer. Going into that purchase, I knew it wasn’t going to be a Colt or Smith and Wesson, etc but it’s a great rifle for half the price of a Colt. And that dealer also sells a more basic AR for $700.

After multiple ranges days my friends and I have noticed that the stock AR’s shoot just as good as the more expensive ones. They’re not as durable as my M4A1 was but I’m not going to war or shooting it multiple times a day. I’m also not a gun snob. I have some high end firearms, but I also have lots of budget ones as well.

I want to know what you’re looking for in a budget AR-15 and what you might be willing to pay for it. I plan on buying in bulk and reselling from home as well as selling custom AR’s. Or I might just keep them for myself and sell my higher end ones.
