My parents are trying to convince me to travel to Cancun Mexico by saying theres no crime there

Well, I've been reading the new and i don't know if you guys have seen it but theres been an armed crime against tourists by the beach. The authorities say this has been happening in other places like this in the Cancun area. You can watch the video in Youtube and theres also news in various news stations confirming the same scenario. <br><br>I don't want to lose my life by not doing my research. If I knew of this beforehand, I would have said no but too late now because I've already paid for it. I'm also worried because my estranged father is going to be there too and I'm afraid of him so there's no way I'm going to share a room with him. <br><br>He's also angry that he has to pay for his own room. If he knew I was going to pay for his room, he would have waited for me to pay for it but too late now. <br><br>My mom isn't helping me at all. She's so mean to me and called me a liar when I tried to tell her about it so I'm getting no support from her.
