My boyfriend confessed attraction to catgirls

My boyfriend just sat me down and told me he’s been into catgirls since HS and he thought it would be weird if he told me before but he’s been feeling really guilty about it lately and wants to be completely honest with me in our relationship. He assured me he hasn’t looked at any at the start of our relationship and he’s not obsessed with them. But he still wants the judgement lifted off his shoulders. I feel like I’ve been blind sided and I can’t help but feel hurt about it but I’m trying to see that he just wants to be able to trust me with his secrets and be able to be open without fear of how I’d react. I told him I won’t judge him for it but I’m having a hard time believing what he said about not looking at any while dating me. I just don’t know how to feel about it.
