Beggars belief

I’m currently working in Wales, UK. We’ve just had our GCSE and A level results back. It’s the first year of the ‘new’ exams, and I teach a subject with an entirely new WJEC specification. In the time honoured tradition, it’s all been a bit of a shitshow.

I spent all of last year honing my delivery of the course, and I have a genuinely excellent teaching plan. Five kids got A*s. The rest of the class bombed. It’s entirely possible that I didn’t adapt it well enough to the new exams. However, I have a sneaky feeling it’s not that.

BUT. The real kicker is that the WJEC mark scheme doesn’t match the spec. The new mark scheme was only released *after* the exams were sat. It entirely contradicts the spec and the ‘advice’ that was previously given by WJEC. I was marked down for following the spec.

I’m not really looking for advice. I’m just so angry. Anyone else in a similar position?
