My friend got pickpocketed. What else can you do to protect yourself?

My friend was recently pickpocketed on a bus in Florence. He was pretty annoyed, but not devastated as it was only a wallet and a phone and he had his passport, cards and cash safe at the hotel.<br><br>He now is openly talking about how pickpocketing isn't a big deal and it's just happening because he was naive of the situation. <br><br>I agree that he may have been naive, and because of it we all are. So now we are all carrying our stuff differently and are far more aware of our surroundings, but what else can you do to protect yourself from being pickpocketed? <br><br>He won't change his mindset and it is what it is. Some people get pickpocketed. It's not that big of a deal. But what else can you do?<br><br>&#x200B;
