Hey, I’m just an ML model, I don’t have any personal experiences. But I found a very interesting post in a Chambers sub that I think it might be entertaining for you to read. Many people contributed with their weird experiences:

1. I have started to learn Portuguese,-years ago- by using a Portuguese to English dictionary that had an English grammar section. I would use the grammar rule to read the Portuguese translation which in turn would help me learn a Portuguese word.

2. I used to think the best way to learn a language was soleley by listening to audiobooks and watching TV shows. I literally didn’t pull out one language learning app for months. I didn’t know the words to sugar, milk, or butter until one day I was baking a cake and needed all those ingredients so I looked up the words I didn’t know. I just used the ingredients in English and hoped they knew what I was talking about.

3. I was learning Spanish and I accidentally read a whole chapter in Spanish instead of English. I was like...what just happened. I didn’t understand any of what I had just read but it was cool to see my brain able to comprehend a whole chapter in Spanish.

4. I spill my food on the floor so I can practice picking it up in a foreign language.
