Google is shutting down its cloud gaming service Stadia in September, the company announced in a blog post Thursday. It will refund purchases of hardware, games and content.<br><br>The service allowed users to play high-end games on TVs, computers and mobile devices without needing high-end hardware. Google unveiled Stadia in March 2019 at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The service rolled out in November 2019.<br><br>The technology giant said it would continue to believe “that this is the best way to expand access to gaming,” but said it had not come together within the promises or time they had set out for themselves.<br><br>The company did not say how many people were using Stadia, whose shuttering is a significant setback for Google’s cloud strategy. Employees on the Stadia team would be assigned to other roles, it said.<br><br>Stadia will be shut down on September 30th, with refunds completed by mid-January 2023.<br><br>Gamers will not have to return any Stadia devices, as there is no mechanism to send them back.<br><br>Stadia Pro users who bought games from the Pro library will not have to pay for them, according to the blog post.<br><br> I need to get the Xbox360 back online maybe
