What is happening in my country (Israel) right now?

Hey, I’m an Israeli, and I thought this would be the best place other than a political chamber to ask. <br><br>Our country is currently a war zone. Riots all over the country by radical arab islamists, cities are burning and thousands of our citizens have been kidnapped by radical palestinian terrorist groups like Hamas. <br><br>All of this started because of the recent conflict between Israel and Gaza in which more than 1,000 innocent palestinians were killed by mistake in a catastrophic explosion in a hospital in which it’s not clear who is responsible.<br><br>Overall, this conflict has been going on for more than a 100 years it feels like, and a solution does not feel like it’s coming any time soon.<br><br>So, my question is, how and when will this ever end? We can’t let this conflict continue forever. I do not want to continue living in a war zone. I do not want to be at risk of being drafted and dying in a war over some meaningless land. I want to live a peaceful life just like any other citizen in any other country. It feels like we are getting closer and closer to this conflict turning into an actual genocide. <br><br>And I haven’t even talked about all of the innocent people that are being held captive. I live in a very small town in which we are not directly at risk of our houses getting bombed, but many people live in cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that put them at risk of a missile hit.<br><br>I’ve heard that this conflict will never end, I’ve also heard that the only way this conflict will end is if a solution comes from outside of the region, but overall it’s clear that this conflict is nowhere near an end.<br><br>So what do you think, how will this conflict finally end? What needs to happen for us to stop living in a war zone?<br><br>Edit: I’m getting a lot of hate, most of it is from people from Arab countries or people from the US with Arab heritage and people from Europe with Arab heritage. I think we can all agree that hatred is very bad and we need to let it go for the sake of humanity. Hatred will get us nowhere.<br><br>To all of the people with good intentions, thank you, it’s been extremely comforting to know that there are a lot of people around the world who are concerned for our well-being and do not condone the recent acts in our country. Thank you and may we all live in a better world.<br><br>And to all the haters, I do not have energy for you and I do not have time for you.
