My (29M) gf (27F) sent me a screenshot of her chatting with her ex, and it came across as really strange.

Dated her 10 months, she's the love of my life.<br><br>We had a normal relationship, but some things were shrouded in mystery. She was tight lipped about all her communications with her parents, but I never cared. Her close friends she discussed with me but I never felt like she was being dishonest or anything.<br><br>First red flag was about 4 months ago, she was chatting on her phone. I built an amazing trust with her, so I thought it was completely fine to look at her phone. Lo and behold, she was flirting with her ex. I made the mistake of bringing it up, and it was definitely a mistake. She flipped on me and basically berated me, to the point I didn't know what to do.<br><br>It was an argument like no other, she just kept telling me how I'm no one to demand to see her phone. I started to Google and read that yes, I overstepped.<br><br>Flash forward a few days ago, she will no longer allow me to touch her phone.<br><br>Here is where it gets weird.<br><br>She sent me a screenshot of her arguing with her ex, in a bid to make me feel better. The screenshot was of them arguing, her telling him to fuck off basically. They were each accusing each other of cheating.<br><br>But I noticed something: her ex was saying he had cheated on her, and the timestamp of the messages were from 2018. My gf was telling him that she had also cheated on him, but her "cheating" was from 2019.<br><br>This made me wonder, did they just randomly decide to make up some new arguement over years old issues?<br><br>I asked my gf about it, and her explanation was that her ex had brought up his infidelity recently and she was telling him that she too had been unfaithful.<br><br>That didn't make any sense, at all. Even if they were arguing, why would either of them bring up their infidelity years later? Does my gf still chat with him everyday? Was this just a ploy to make me feel better?<br><br>I'm sooo confused. I have no idea what to make of any of this, any thoughts would be great.<br><br>TLDR: Gf showed me screenshot of her and her ex arguing, but the argument is weird and doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
