Hello fellow learners and native speakers , I'm a Chinese, and I think Chinese language is cliche , Chinese language is just too simple, too repetitive, too BeiJing-centric. Take pronounciation for an example, there are so many homophones , the standard Mandarin even drops the plural forms in Chinese speaking. Take vocabulary for an example , it is not hard to learn, but the word structure is so repetitive and so hard to make a difference, I mean, you can tell thousands of word differences in Japanese and Russian , even English. Take grammar for an example, Chinese language is grammarless, because there is no such thing called grammar in Chinese, it is so hard to explain, there is no such thing called the subject-predicate. Take accent for an example, only north Chinese accent is considered "standard", all other accents are considered "dialect", when the people speak other accents, it is called "speaking with a regional accent", this is the thing that I don't like the most, I don't like my linguistic identity being erased , just like how Americans don't like their accent being called "rude" , how French people don't like their accent being called "arrogant", how Germans don't like their accent being called "cold". I think every accent is unique , every accent is special, even the standard Mandarin , speakers should be proud of their accents, they should be proud to be themselves. I don't like to be judged by my accent, I don't like to be judged by my race , I don't like to be judged by my sexuality. I hope people of other races and languages can understand my feelings. I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone.
