I am in an ethically ambiguous situation.

My dogs breed is also the meat dog breed in South Korea. I live in Seoul. I have a weakness for stray animals that have been dumped. Side note: South Korea is experiencing huge social change. 10 years ago, no one had pets, now, everyone has a pet. Surely, as more people get pets, there are more that are dumped. I’m sure there’s a horse in front of a cart here but I’m going to blame culture.

I give food to strays whenever I see one. One night, I was walking my dog, and there was a stray dog, which was the same breed as my dog. I gave it a piece of hot dog. Now, it follows us every night. It is very scrawny. It is very cute and I want to take it in. My dog is not the friendliest dog to other dogs so it’s not important to me if they don’t get along, I can raise the stray dog in the other room. I already have two cats and a hedgehog.

My issue is that this stray dog is clearly a Jindo. Because of this, there is a high chance that it will be picked up and taken to the shelter, and either adopted to an ignorant foreigner, or eaten. So I have to take it in. This will cause me to have to move,to a two bedroom apartment, find new full time employment instead of my part time job, and possibly change my entire life to accommodate this dog.

Pom kettles, please don’t comment.
