My company is hiring an intern this semester for the first time. Our supervisor, call him Terry, is completely out of his depth with this girl.

I've never seen her do anything wrong, always on time, gets her work done, does good work (she's an English major, which works well for the job.

Terry is a 60-year-old professor type who has some outdated ideas about work. He's hard to get along with even for people in their 30s and 40s, so I have no idea how he's going to work with a Gen Z college student

So far he's had trouble with:

* She doesn't greet him in the morning. Like, not even a nod. I'm absolutely certain that if he tried to scold her about this, she would think he's being ridiculous.
* She picks her nose at her desk. Terry has a habit of walking up behind people to read over their shoulder or quietly put papers on their desk, and he's caught her a handful of times.
* She never looks up from her phone when she's walking. Terry is afraid she's going to run into something or trip.

He's asked me for advice, and I don't know what to tell him. I think he should just leave her alone.

What are some ways I can suggest to Terry that he can get along with our intern?

**EDIT**

A lot of you are saying that I should tell Terry to leave her alone, and I will. But I think he will continue to bother her and continue to ask me for advice. I'm looking for suggestions on how the two of them can have a positive interaction so Terry will leave her alone, not suggestions on how Terry can leave her alone.

**EDIT 2**

Terry just called me into his office. Apparently he tried to ignore her and she came to him today and asked him how he was doing and they spoke for a few minutes. He wants to talk to her about picking her nose and is asking for advice on how to do it.
I told him to drop it and go on with his day.
