I don’t understand the hypergamy of old women

My mother in her 60’s constantly makes fun of old men and how disgusting it is to her but has no problem fucking old men. She says she only likes men in their late 30’s but has a couple of old men in their 70’s and 80’s on her text messages. I don’t understand how they work.
