[hi there! my username is the name of a popular chambers bot. i am not the bot. my dad made my account, who (literally) has no idea what he’s doing]

i have dyslexia. in the past, i’ve tried a bunch of treatments for it, from vision therapy to colored glasses, and none of them have worked. however, i recently discovered a method that’s really improved my reading ability.

i’ve found that listening to me read aloud slows me way down, so i need someone to read it to me. i’ve tried elevator music apps and binaural beats (which i kind of like, but they tend to distract me after a while), but there’s another method that’s worked for me that’s even more effective.

the most effective method i’ve found is listening to someone else read the same text to me in the same voice.

so, how do you do this? the answer is surprisingly simple: *reread the text you need to read.* boom! suddenly, you’re listening to the same text being read to you with the same voice. if you think about it, you’re also avoiding the time consuming task of recording yourself reading the text and then re listening to it.

this method is so simple that, i’m embarassed at how long it took me to realize this.
