An Indian guest worker in the middle east is incomparable to an American guest worker in Europe or Canada

Folks, I've lived most of my life in the middle east. I'm an Indian. They are human beings, our brothers and sisters and we should love em. We should allow guest workers in. But if y'all start rationalizing that what happens in the gulf nations is culturally acceptable, I will have a different opinion. An Indian guest worker in the middle east is not the same as an American guest worker in Europe. The other day I had a conversation with a colleague who is from the UK, who happens to work in middle east too. I asked, "Do you guys get paid on time?" He says, he has no problem at all.

An American or European guest worker in Europe or Canada or any other country is not treated like a second-class citizen.

I don't know how ethno-nationalists keep up this attitude of "oh, gulf nations do this to nationals of another country, we can't rationalize it". What you're comparing is apples and oranges. Guest workers in the Middle East, we can't vote. It's a patriarchal society. And they live in ghettos.

If we treat guest workers from South Asia in the middle east as second-class citizens, does that mean it's acceptable for Americans and Europeans to do the same? Sure. They can. But does that make it right? No.

If you're advocating for the treatment of second-class citizens that's just wrong. It's the same as saying, "They kill us in the middle east, we can do it everywhere". When are you going to grow up and stop having this mental attitude that everyone should or can treat us like "shit"? It's so stupid. I'm sure many of you who are advocating for the same shit are obviously from an upper-middle-class background. The middle east is no place for guest workers without proper protections. The amount of sexual assault, rape, and abuse of domestic workers there is rampant and is never reported. It's the same thing as saying, "They're treating us like animals, let's do the same". Grow up.
