Everyone should watch the documentary "The Mask You Live In"

I watched this a few years ago, and it really reinforced many of the negative things i've been learning about women. If you are unfamiliar, the movie is just interviews with a bunch of experts in various fields asking "What is wrong with men?" and blaming men for all the problems in the world, with a few interviews with men interspersed. The overall takeaway is that "traditional masculinity" is keeping men back and causing all the ills of society. <br><br>The whole movie is just a laundry list of things they have observed about men, and blamed on men, with zero effort to understand why men might act the way they do. <br><br>It starts off talking about how men are more violent and aggressive, and how men are far more likely to murder themselves and others, and then just immediately comes to the conclusion that this is all due to "traditional masculinity" and patriarchy. The fact that women control the relationshipsphere and redistribute the male sex is never discussed.<br><br>Then it moves on to how men are sexually objectifying women, and how objectifying and dehumanizing men's behavior towards women is. But the fact that a man's dating success is entirely dependant on how big his muscles are and how chiseled his jaw is, and how much pressure men are under to look good and impress women, is never discussed.<br><br>The whole movie is just like this. They list off a bunch of negative behaviors they have observed in men and then blame it on "traditional masculinity" and never even try to understand why men might be acting these ways. It's just assumed that men would be better off without "traditional masculinity" and society would be better off.<br><br>It's insane how much of a lack of self awareness these people have. It's honestly jaw-dropping.<br><br>They also never define what "traditional masculinity" is, they just assume everyone knows what they're talking about. The whole movie is just a bunch of meaningless words strung together with no actual substance.
