Apple puts iPhone maker in China on probation over labor practices

Apple put Taiwan’s Pegatron Corp. on probation on Wednesday for violating the company’s Supplier Code of Conduct by allowing student workers at its factory in China to work night shifts, among other labor rights violations. The probation, described in a statement posted on Apple’s website, effectively bars Pegatron from taking on new Apple business pending further investigation and corrective actions.
