The deadliest pandemic in human history killed 100 million people during the 14th century. How much worse would the economic impact and death toll have been had it occurred today?

No doubt the death toll would be much higher due to a much larger population. The Black Death killed an estimated 30-60% of Europe's population and Europe's population is 740 million today.

My question is, would this percentage increase significantly due to the interconnectedness of the world today? That would mean the death toll would be much higher than 30-60% of 740 million.
