Our $200 range microwave broke. Repair guy came out and cracked it open and said it was a bad door switch. He wanted $389 to fix it. NFW. Besides, he already pointed out the exact model of the switch that had gone out. I took a look at the switch at Home Depot. $50 for a switch? What? So, I go to Amazon. $8 prime shipping, replacement switch in 2 days. I installed it myself. Total cost $17. Done.

Why would I ever use a repair guy again? I called a different repair guy. He said that his suppliers cost was $50.

So, let’s recap. If I got a microwave from Sears, or some mom and pop, or hell even Amazon, they’re all gonna have the same fucking repair guy come out, who is gonna charge me $389 for a goddamn switch that he buys for $50. Fuck that.

On a related note, I bought a switch and installed it myself. So, I now know the location of a switch that rarely goes out. If it ever goes out again, I can buy a new one for $17 and replace it myself. I’m not gonna call a repair guy if it ever goes out again.
