Dude at my job lifted a bunch of stuff

Im a stocker at a grocery store. So we have a co-worker who constantly jokes about shoplifting and larceny in general. Well, we had our new security guard (havent had one in a while) and he pulled the cart that we were putting all the trash in and was like what’s in here? We were like, trash. He opened it and there were some eggs and some other stuff in there, and he asked why those were in a cart with “trash”. We were all like, oh, i thought that was in there so i just threw it in this cart assuming it was trash as well. I guessed my coworker did that product on purpose, so i went to look at the eggs and they all had the store stickers on them. So he obviously took all of the broken eggs that were supposed to go in the trash so he could take them home. I’m really hoping the manager didn’t write him up but he did have to pick out all the eggs, so he had to touch all of the garbage (literally feces and broken glass) for like 5 minutes so i guess he got what was coming to him. He was very pissed off about it, but he did get to take the eggs home, so i dont really get why he was mad.
