My boyfriend says I'm too frugal even though I'm a stay at home mom. How should I approach this?

My boyfriend of 8 years and I have 2 kids: 2yo and a 1yo. I stay home with them during the day while he works 8 hours a day. I'm very good at cooking and making food last, I meal prep and I clip coupons. I also buy stuff when it's on sale or when I have a coupon. I love to save and I would rather save my money than spend it on stuff I don't really need. He does appreciate the fact that I'm good at saving. I don't spend my days watching TV and I do a lot of the chores. <br><br>We had a big fight a few days ago because he wanted to eat something else but I made whatever I had already started cooking. Said that I want to live poor and I want to eat poor food as well. He is not considered poor or low income.<br><br>Idk how to approach this.
