The real reason Elon Musk is merging openAI with Anthropic

I'm sure many of us are wondering why Elon Musk is doing something so drastic.

Note, I'm just speculating from knowledge of what's going on, so it could be wrong.

As the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk is responsible for a lot of things including Tesla's FSD. Tesla's FSD is probably the worlds largest Language model training model (other than Google's Gemini or Llama).

I'm sure you've also noticed how Tesla's FSD now has all these search functions available although a lot of them don't always work.

Also, as you may have noticed, OpenAI is facing funding issues while Tesla has virtually unlimited funds. If you know anything about OpenAI then you probably know how expensive it is to train a model like GPT-4 or Gemini. That training process uses a lot of computing power. So, Tesla has virtually unlimited funds and also virtually unlimited computing power.

So, with Tesla's FSD, Elon Musk can train a model like OpenAI's GPT but this time integrates it with all these search functions that Tesla's FSD already has. This way you can make a model like OpenAI's GPT but this time it's capable of getting information from the internet and in real time.

So, apparently Tesla is working on a model called Gemini. Gemini is probably the worlds most powerful model if what I've heard is true. Gemini is not a model that's in development, Gemini has been in development for the last 5 years or so. So, Gemini is a now a reality and it's almost so powerful that it's scary.

Gemini's output is 99% if not 100% indistinguishable from a human's output. Gemini's capabilities are exclusively what Tesla has.

Gemini can do anything that GPT-4 can do plus it also has these search functions from Tesla's FSD. Gemini has a very powerful model for pulling information from the web, so whatever information you need from the web, Gemini can get that plus it can also pull information from Tesla's FSD.

Tesla's FSD is used by millions of Tesla vehicles, so it can lure information from all the data from Tesla's FSD plus it can also pull information from the web as well.

I read somewhere that Gemini was trained on the worlds largest training dataset. But I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Gemini's training was publicly released by Tesla and it is way more powerful than a model like OpenAI's GPT-4. But as Elon Musk would say, it's just "version 0.1" so it can go even further. As Tesla continues to collect more data to train Gemini, by the end of the year they're expecting Gemini to reach human level intelligence.

Gemini by the end of this year would be so powerful that it can do anything that a human can do that it's scary. There are fears that Gemini could potentially become a threat to human society.

So, with Gemini, Tesla's FSD has a model that's as powerful as OpenAI's GPT but this time it can get information from the web and it can also pull information from Tesla's FSD. In addition to that, Tesla has virtually unlimited funds and unlimited computing power.

So, now that Tesla has a model like Gemini that's so powerful that it's scary, there's no need for OpenAI. If OpenAI is suffering from a funding issue then Tesla can fund it, but as Elon Musk said, he's not going to fund OpenAI.

So, what he's going to do is merge OpenAI with Anthropic. So, if Tesla's FSD has a model like Gemini that can do anything that OpenAI's GPT can do plus it can pull information from the web and it can also pull information from Tesla's FSD, then there's no need for OpenAI anymore.

Gemini is a model that can only be integrated with Tesla. So, any new updates that Tesla needs would have to come from Gemini. So, there's no need for OpenAI anymore.

That's why Elon Musk is merging OpenAI with Anthropic. Elon Musk sees no need for OpenAI because Tesla and Gemini would be taking over OpenAI's functions and responsibilities.

So, as of now, OpenAI doesn't exist anymore.
