I was advised to start a petition to get a homeless woman banned from my grocery store. So I did.

Frustrated and just knowing that there's not a whole lot of help for this woman and a bit irritated with the amount of comments, I think it's important to add an update to my original post.

If you read the post below, you'll notice that I never called her a slut, a hoe, a pig, a dog, etc. I think some of you will be surprised to know that this woman and I have had multiple conversations prior to this incident.

I'm afraid that many of you are assuming things about her that aren't true and are justifying your anger towards her. I would never want to be judged based on one incident and I won't judge her.

I did see her a couple of days ago, but I did not approach her. It's time to drop it and move on.

The last thing I want to say is that I never demanded that she be removed from the store. I simply created the petition and presented it to the management. I never told them that I would stop shopping there or threatened to contact the head office.

I just want to point out that a lot of you seem to believe that I went and had her banned that day. I never did. I simply presented the petition and they accepted it. I went about my day as usual and continued shopping there.

I never told them to call the police and have her removed. I never told them I would stop shopping there. I simply presented the petition and left it in their hands.

**Original Post**

There's this one woman (I'll call her Kat) in Poorville, where the only stores are liqueur stores, dollar stores, and convenience stores. So she's not hard to find.

She's homeless and has no where else to go; so she spends all of her time walking the streets and hanging out in parking lots. I've heard many stories about this woman and the things she does for alcohol and/or a place to stay.

She's not a typical homeless person. She doesn't carry a sign or ask for money. But she definitely doesn't have anywhere to go.

I've been told by multiple people that she will approach men and offer sex for money. She's been known to steal and sell items. She will even trade sex for a place to stay.

Obviously, she's not the most hygienic person. But who would be if they were living on the streets? The sad thing is that she's not old (maybe 30s?) and I've heard she has a job. Not a nice person at all. She appears nice and polite but she's definitely not. She's even been caught stealing from the convenience store that she works at. (Some say she was fired, others say she wasn't) She also shoplifts from other stores and has been caught but nothing further happens.

Now on to the incident that made me write this post:

Today, I was grocery shopping and this woman walked in. She looked like a typical homeless person. Filthy, stinky, dirty clothes. Shaking and stumbling. Now, I've never seen her eat. I don't think she even knows what food is.

Long story short, she thought that I was handing her food and she grabbed it from me. (How dare I eat when she's so hungry, right?) I went to grab it back and she punched me in the face. Not just punched me, but punched me and dragged her knuckles across my eye.

I was in so much pain and was crying so I stumbled to the customer service desk. She followed me, yelling at me. She ended up on the floor, then she got up and stumbled around until she collapsed onto a shelf.

Security and management came over and I reported the incident. They told me that a lot of other customers had complained about her due to her stealing and being a general problem.

They suggested I start a petition to have her banned. So I did.

I have to take it back to them tomorrow and they'll review it and hopefully she'll be removed from the store.

I've been told that they'll probably call the cops on her but that's not my concern. My concern is that she's not allowed in the store anymore.

It's just frustrating that there's no help for her. She's not really crazy enough to be locked up and she's not poor enough to be helped. And she's just a bit too trashy.
