Right wingers live on this site, constantly posting to the left, trying to shape our belief systems, trying to convince us of their point of view, arguing and trying to get us to their side. They know that if they can only get us to see things their way, they can win us over to be more conservative.

Leftists tend to post mostly to people we already agree with, which has its own merits in terms of energizing the group, but we usually don't try to convince conservatives to change their minds. The left thinks the best way to change conservatives is basically to show them what we believe in action. The proof is in the pudding.

There is no conservative argument that will ever change my mind about climate change. If I ever change my mind, it will be because of something that science convinces me of, not something that some conservative posts on Reddit.

There is no conservative argument that will ever change my mind on social issues like abortion, LGBTQ issues, race issues, feminism, etc. If I ever change my mind on any of these issues, it will not be because some conservative was able to out-logic me, it will be through self-reflection and being able to see things from a different perspective.

In reality, most of us only change our minds when we grow out of our old perspectives. No one ever posts a comment so well-written that it changes someone else's political views.

This is an important thing to note, because I think it shows that conservatives are way more interested in convincing us of their point of view than we are in changing them.
