Elon Musk is in talks to acquire Rumble, a Canadian video platform, as he seeks alternatives to YouTube.<br><br>The purchase could happen as soon as this month, one of the sources said, adding that Musk personally reached out to Rumble’s CEO Chris Pavlovski last year.<br><br>Rumble is popular among conservative accounts, including former US President Donald Trump.<br><br>The video platform has been dubbed the “YouTube for conservatives” and has become a popular alternative to established platforms.<br><br>Musk has around 162 million followers on Twitter, which he acquired last year.<br><br>Discussions centring on buying Rumble started last year, the sources said. But there is no guarantee that the deal will go ahead.<br><br>Rumble was launched in 2013 and has attracted top conservative influencers.<br><br>However, it has struggled to compete with the likes of YouTube and TikTok.
