If a couple is being all couple-y and you are lonely enough to stare at them, always be polite and friendly.

This is a very easy mistake to make because you are jealous of them and don't expect your eyes to get caught. When a couple is being all cute and you are jealous, they will get your attention... and then you watch them and enjoy the moment, then you outrun the shame and guilt and just stare. They can make you think you are being disgusting or something if you don't want to acknowledge that they have caught you. If you act grossed out, then they will also feel uncomfortable. If you act angry or disgusted or weirded out, they will feel like you are causing trouble for them. If you make them feel uncomfortable when they are being affectionate, they will blame you for something they have just caught you doing.

Always be polite and friendly. If they make eye contact and you are caught, always *always* smile and make eye contact and be friendly. Don't be grossed out. If you get caught watching a couple, always be polite. This is just a good idea.

If you are feeling lonely, you can get caught up in your feelings and make other people uncomfortable. People are happier when they are friendly and less likely to do something self-destructive.

Do not let yourself feel disgusted by couples because they are happy in love and you are not. Don't make them uncomfortable. Be polite. Always be polite and friendly.
